Juefang - CEO

Juefang, an Emmy-nominated third-culture producer graduated from NYU Tisch. Born in China, raised in Singapore and now based in LA, she specializes in Female-Centric Asian Thrillers and International Co-Productions.

Starting her career as Assistant Director for Jackie Chan, she produced DETOUR and FENNI ZOMBIE, gaining recognition in prestigious festivals. She also produced the feature scripts MOLLY BLING BLING and FISHBONE were respectively selected as the finalists at SFFILM Westridge and Sundance Development Track.

Her producing work includes the Emmy-Nominated WUHAN WUHAN alongside notable producers like Donna Gigliotti and Donnie Yen, gaining an IDA Best Feature Awards nomination and winning at the Doc Edge Film Festival. In 2022, she co-produced K-POPS! with 8-time Grammy winner Anderson .Paak, and executive produced the Sundance sci-fi title MAIKA and Korean thriller title DAWNING.  She also worked as the associate producer on HIDDEN LETTERS, which premiered at Tribeca and was shortlisted for the Academy Awards. The same year, she was invited as a panel speaker during the 75th Cannes Film Festival and a jury at the 58th Chicago International Film Festival.

Previously, she worked as the Creative Executive at Starlight Media where she worked on CRAZY RICH ASIANS, MALIGNANT by James Wan, MIDWAY by Roland Emmerich and UMMA by Sam Raimi and spearheaded the Sundance Institute | Stars Collective Granting Fund to promote BIPOC filmmakers. As the Head of Film&TV at EST Studios, she founded the Development and Distribution Departments and spearheaded pivotal partnerships with leading Asian production studios, including Malaysia's Ace Pictures, Taiwan's Studio 76, and Beijing’s Hugo East.

Currently serving as the CEO of When Pigs Fly Films Studios, Juefang is developing multiple international genre projects. Her dynamic portfolio includes the Taiwan-US crime thriller WHEN PIGS FLY, the Thai-French thriller WHITE ISLAND, the Mongolian-centric project Where The Mountain Women Sing, and a U.S. Sci-Fi blockbuster.

Chen li - CREATIVE EXECutive

Graduated NYU Tisch, Li Chen has over a decade experience in advertising, documentary, and film production. He has filming experience in various locations, including China, Japan, the United States, and Singapore. His short film "Lily's Pain Shop" was selected for the Oscar Academy Award-recognized IN THE PALACE International Film Festival and Zinebi International Film Festival, as well as the First Run Film Festival. He has also received the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Post-Production Award.

His directed music video "End Of May" was nominated for the 2015 Los Angeles Music Video Festival (LA MUSIC VIDEO FESTIVAL), and his written and directed short film "Sparrows in the City" was selected for the Chicago Blow-Up Art House Film Festival (BLOW-UP FILM FEST).

He has collaborated with brands including BMW, Cadillac, Buick, SK-II, Beats headphones, and has had successful collaborations with many artists such as Chun Xia, Wan Qian, Ma Boqian, Xiang Yuchen, Li Sidanni, and Baipi Shu.

ivan tsang - Writer

Ivan Tsang’s first major breakthrough in Hollywood came when he optioned the pilot “Everyone Loves Asian Men” to HBO as part of the HBO Access writing fellowship. Previously, Ivan attended NYU’s Tisch school for the arts and began his career writing for influencers where his work has been viewed over 100 million times.

Viral success has led to several feature opportunities and Ivan has since written and developed films for ACE ENTERTAINMENT (To All the Boys I loved trilogy), MADE WITH LOVE MEDIA (Marvel MCU lead attached), DEXTER STUDIOS (Netflix lead attached), FIVE ALL IN THE FIFTH (First look deal at Fox), SCOOTER BRAUN PROJECTS (Dave) as well as JUBILEE MEDIA (8 million subscribers on Youtube) among others.

Ivan’s goal is to bring commercial structure to the indie world similar to what Bong Joon Ho did for Parasite.

KATHLEEN LEE - Producer

Kathleen Lee is a producer best known for co-producing a new 2024 feature directed by Kate Bohan, and starring Kara Wang, Matthew Morrison, Kathryn Morris and Christopher Shyer. Her project MOLLY BLING BLING, written and directed by Juefang Zhang, was also notably selected as an SFFILM Westridge finalist.

Starting out as a Research Assistant for the Ministry of Culture in Taiwan and working for Taiwan's leading television station, Sanlih Television, she then launched her career toward her passion in entertainment, film marketing and acquisitions while serving as a coordinator at a leading film sales company, VMI Worldwide. Kathleen has since been heavily involved in various Film PR events including ADG Awards, MUAHS Awards, ICG ECA, FYC Events for VICE on HBO and more.

Now as a seasoned producer, she dedicates her work to animation and live-action film production, specializing in bringing projects to life by amplifying the voices of women and people of color. Her vision is to uplift original voices and stories, as well as being able to strike the right balance when leading projects while also supporting clients through each step of the creative process. She has also long overseen Marketing & Operations for the Asian World Film Festival for over six years. Her list of credits includes producing "Will You Be My Quaran-tine?" a Mask Up, Vax Up PSA short film with a rom com twist created in response to the global pandemic, that was distributed via LA Weekly Asia with support from Gelson's Market. Her slate of award-winning shorts, "12 Steps to Financial Aid" and "Fishbone," were also semi-finalist-selected features for Sundance Labs.

Kathleen continues to be tirelessly driven to connect with audiences through the power of storytelling. Producing motivates Kathleen to collaborate with and be inspired by people who share a common thread. Even if their stories are one of a kind, their passion for creating is the same hers - because their stories matter.
